Tetiyette and the Devil is a story from Guadeloupe about a woman who had only one girl child. The story tells that she wanted her daughter to get married but she was a very hard one to please. SUMMARY The Bahamas, an archipelago and country located on the northwestern edge of the west indies. It's located north of most countries in the caribbean such as Cuba, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Haiti, Puerto Rico and the Lesser Antilles. The Bahamas was originally a British colony until they declared independence in 1973. Therefore, their official language is English. The capital is Nassau and the population is around 337,000 people. A unique fact about The Bahamas is that it was there where Christopher columbus made his original landfall in the Americas in 1492. The archipelago contains about 700 islands, and only around 30 are inhabited. However, you can classify these Islands in 16 different regions. These are: Bimini, Grand Bahama, The Berry Islands, New Providence, the Abacos, Eleuthera, Andros, the Exumas, Cat Island, San Salvador, Rum Cay, Long Island, Ragged Island, Inagua, the A&C islands and Mayanagua.
